Seattle-based Tenor Carson Truett Lott has appeared with Byrd Ensemble, Evergreen Ensemble, Harmonia Orchestra and Chorus, the Oregon Bach Festival Berwick Chorus, the Tacoma Bach Festival, the Musicking Conference, Premier Vocal Entertainment, a touring group of Boston Camerata members, Inland Northwest Opera, Cascadia Chamber Opera, Orpheus PDX, the Seattle Opera Chorus, and the Seattle Opera Creation Lab.
In the 2025-26 season, Carson will make his Hawaii debut with Early Music Hawaii (Cantus Germanicus: Reform and Counter-Reform), and will join Seattle Opera's School Tour production of Pirates of Penzance as Frederic. Carson will also join the chorus with Evergreen Ensemble (Where You Belong, Christmas with Evergreen, To the West), Seattle Bach Festival (Christmas Oratorio), Music at Epiphany (Handel's Messiah), Premier Vocal Entertainment (Holiday Harmony Carolers), Seattle Opera (Pirates of Penzance, Daphne, Carmen), Byrd Ensemble (Seattle Girls Choir Readings & Carols), and the Nothing Gold Vocal Ensemble in their first season. And, Carson will appear in recording projects released throughout 25-26 with Byrd Ensemble and the Compline Choir.
As a concert soloist, Carson’s repertoire includes Bach cantatas 61, 106, and 140, SACRED PLACE (Berko), WINTER WORDS (Britten), MEMBRA JESU NOSTRI (Buxtehude), LE JALOUX (Clérambault), LET US GARLANDS BRING (Finzi), MESSIAH (Handel), REQUIEM (Howells), REQUIEM (Mozart), and DICHTERLIEBE (Schumann). Past roles include King Belshazzar in THE PLAY OF DANIEL, Paolino in IL MATRIMONIO SEGRETO (Cimarosa), Arthur Owen in FREE MEN (Hastings), Ferdinand in CARMEN AND THE BULL (LaBarge), Pastore I in L’ORFEO (Monteverdi), Colton in BRADFORD FAMILY BAND (Oberhofer), Monaca Seconda and Voce in LA BEATA IMELDE (Perti), and the Rooster in RENARD (Stravinsky).
As a chorus member, Carson has performed numerous concert masses and Bach cantatas, Magnificat (Bach), Sacred Place (Berko), Les Troyens and Roméo et Juliette (Berlioz), Membra Jesu Nostri (Buxtehude), Te Deum (Charpentier), the world premiere of The Passion of Yeshua (Danielpour), Orfeo ed Eurydice (Gluck), Messiah (Handel), Lilja (Hurum), The Little Match Girl Passion (Lang), Prophetiae Sibyllarum (Lassus), Elijah (Mendelssohn), L’Orfeo (Monteverdi), Die Zauberflöte (Mozart), Tosca (Puccini), American Triptych (Runestad), Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom (Sheehan), A Sea Symphony (Vaughan Williams), Gloria (Vivaldi), and the Duruflé, Fauré, Howells, Mozart, and Verdi Requiems.
Carson holds music degrees from Seattle University and the University of Oregon, and can be heard singing regularly around Seattle with Evergreen Ensemble, the Compline Choir of St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, the regular Seattle Opera Chorus, the choirs of Epiphany Parish where he works as a staff soloist and voice instructor, and many other local ensembles, including Seattle's newest vocal octet, Nothing Gold. Carson also teaches voice through ArtSmart, a nationwide organization bringing tuition-free music lessons to high schools across the US.
Carson also operates as a freelance visual artist, specializing in hand-drawn fantasy cartography.
